NAN Deputy Editor-in-Chief’s wife delivers quadruplets after 7-year wait

After seven years of marriage, Mr. Peter Ejiofor, a Deputy Editor-in-Chief of the News Agency of Nigeria, NAN, was blessed with a set of quadruplets in the early hours of yesterday. The quadruplets, all boys, who were delivered at 9.24a.m., are being nursed in incubators at Crystal Specialist Hospital, Akonwonjo, a suburb of Lagos. Ejiofor, the Head of Sports Desk at NAN, said he never lost faith in God during the years of waiting, describing the quadruplets as a miracle from God. His words: “It is simply a miracle as far as I am concerned. APC speaks on Yusuf Buhari’s accident

The ruling All Progressive Congress, APC, has prayed for the speedy and full recovery of the president’s son, Yusuf Buhari. This is contained in a statement signed by its National Publicity Secretary, Bolaji Abdullahi, on Thursday. “Our thoughts and prayers are with the first family following injuries sustained by Yusuf, the son of President Muhammadu Buhari in a motorbike accident. “The APC family is relieved that accident was not fatal. We pray Yusuf makes a speedy and full recovery,” APC said. Meanwhile, Aisha, mother of ailing Yusuf and wife of President Muhammadu Buhari was  placed on bed rest  at Cedarcrest Hospital in the nation’s capital, Abuja. Nollywood Actor, Blossom Chukwujekwu has revealed that a trusted friend once tried to kill him. Chukwujekwu, while sharing a Christmas message on his Instagram, disclosed that a friend he treated as family, deliberately tried to poison his food but did not succeed. Fuel Scarcity: Enugu NSCDC deploys personnel to filling stations

The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), has deployed its personnel to filling stations in Enugu State to maintain law and order. This followed the fuel scarcity that has hit the nation as motorists and motorcyclists struggle to buy petrol. The Corps Commandant in the state, Mr Steve Amoga, made this disclosure to newsmen in Enugu on Tuesday. Amoga said the NSCDC personnel were deployed to NNPC Mega Filling Stations and major marketers’ filling stations in the state that sell fuel at the pump price of N145 but had to contend with long queues. “What we have decided to do is to ensure deployment of our personnel to filling stations with long queues in order to ensure that the lines keep flowing. “Troublemakers are checked from distorting the queues and causing hardship for law-abiding citizens, who have decided to follow the queues diligently,” he said. Wenger lambasts Mourinho for saying £300m spent not enough

Arsenal manager, Arsene Wenger, has told his Manchester United counterpart, Jose Mourinho, that he has spent 21 years not being able to spend as much as his title rivals. Wenger was reacting to Mourinho’s comments that the £300m he has spent so far at Old Trafford, is still  not enough to compete with Manchester City.   When the Gunners boss was asked on Wednesday about the Portuguese remarks, he said: “I have been in that position for 21 years so I can’t start to complain now. “There have always been three or four teams richer than I am. Wike warned me against Amaechi – Senator Abe

Senator Magnus Abe, has said that Govenor Nyesom Wike of Rivers State warned him over the current antagonism he is facing from the Minister of Transport, Chibuike Amaechi-led All Progressives Congress, APC, in the state. Rivers State and the current Minister of Transport Rotimi Chibuike Amaechi says he has no personal problems with Governor Nyesom Wike. He said his problem is the “maladministration, incompetence and lack of vision” on the part of the governor. Fuel Scarcity: Marketers Beg NNPC For Supply, Say ‘Our Depots Are Empty’

The Depot and Petroleum Products Marketers Association (DAPPMA) on Tuesday expressed concern over the inability of Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC) to send petrol to its members’ depots. DAPPMA’s Executive Secretary, Mr Olufemi Adewole, in a statement made available to journalists in Lagos, urged NNPC to help the Association so as to alleviate the suffering of Nigerians. “Our members’ depots are presently empty.
